Click to listen to sound sample Straw-necked Ibis is a common bird all over Australia wherever there are suitable wetlands. Not just in wetlands, they are versatile feeders and feed in grassy paddocks in many of our farmlands - even urban parks as well. They are one of the principal species in Australia you'll see flying in formation. (see pic # 180205)

Straw-necked Ibises nest in huge breeding colonies on some of our inland lakes and swamps, mainly in the Murray-Darling basin.
